Mentoring: a snippet of my journey - Mariem Sanoe

Mentoring: a snippet of my journey - Mariem Sanoe
Being a mentee of Margaret Barrow's has not been easy. She demands that her mentees remain true to themselves and she doesn't tell us what to do; instead, she asks us about our intentions, our passions, our fears, our goals. Then, she encourages us to take responsibility. While that may all sound well and good, it's not easy. Sometimes I want her to tell me what to do, but she refuses. She stands beside me knowing full well that I must walk this journey, take account of my life and be true to myself. No one can do that for me. I am blessed to have her in my life.
